Well, we are off today for a little overnight jaunt to some cooler weather! Heading up to Flagstaff where it is about 30 degrees cooler -like in the 70s and 80s rather than 114!!!
We have only 3 days until school starts and I think I have a perma-headache from staying up late the past 4 nights and planning. This little trip was unexpected, my beloved just asked us to go on thursday night. So, I am losing some planning time, and even though I considered staying behind and letting them go have the fun, I decided to just take a deep breath and go, relax, and enjoy my sweet family for a bit before we dive in. To gain some perspective once again about why it is that we are doing what we are doing with this whole homeschool thing. A big part of our reason is for the flexibility to just drop everything for Daddy’s schedule so we can spend time with him whenever he is available. The kids need their Dad, and his schedule is too sporadic to fit in any family time when the kids are at a traditional school. We learned that the hard way last year.
So we will go, we will walk around the quaint streets of Flagstaff, and we will swim and picnic and stay up late playing uno and watching movies, and then we will return, refreshed and renewed by the One who calls us to be family.
